Scrapping the Music - Cinderella

I haven't done a Scrapping the Music challenge in ages, even though I check their blog weekly. This weeks song is by one of my favorite artists, Steven Curtis Chapman... and I had the perfect photo for it. Since this week was so full with end of school year stuff, and getting ready for vacation, I opted for a quick digital layout. I wish I could remember where I got this free template from. It made up really quick and easy!

Scrapping the Music - Stronger

It's been a month since I've attempted a Scrapping the Music challenge. I just had to do this week... it's my son's favorite song: Stronger by Kanye West. So, here it is... a layout of my son:

Journaling reads:
CVHS Freshman yr 2008, you joined the Capo Cross Country team. You figured that it would get you in shape for the winter high school soccer season. Little did you realize that you would like running more than soccer! You finished the season with PR of 19:08, and at the end of year banquet, you were named most improved runner of the season.

Scrapping the Music - She's not Just a Pretty Face

It's been a while since I've done a Scrapping the Music Challenge. In fact, I haven't done much scrapping at all this year. I have the perfect photo for this challenge. My daughter hates this layout! LOL! All the paper, alphabet, and bling are from the TallyScrapper February kit.

Journaling reads: After not making the Varsity Soccer team, Cheryl didn't give up. She announced that she was going to try out for Capo's first Varsity Lacrosse team. She made it! We now have a Lacrosse player in the family. None of the girls have ever played; most of them don't know the rules, but it looks like a fun game. The coach declared the first scrimmage of the season a success! They lost against ETHS 8-9, but El Toro's Lacrosse program is in its second year.

Scrapping the Music - It's Good to be Us

I went through tons of old photos and came up with four photos of my hubby and I having fun together. It was hard! There were lots of choose from... I guess that means we have lots of fun. LOL! Patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Recess line.

Journaling from the song lyrics:
It's better than best. Yeah we got it made in the shade, in the sun, in love this way. We got lucky baby. We've been blessed. Couldn't ask for more, wouldn't settle for less. It's good to be us, yeah, it's good to be us. It's good to be breathing day after night after day. This feeling feels the way it should...

Scrapping the Music - Baby it's Cold Outside

We got our dog from the pound. She's a mutt, but must be some type of warm weather mix.

She hates the cold. If it gets below 50F, you can find her bundled under her blanket.

I add the snowflake and title to the photo. Then printed the photo out, and added pretty patterned paper from Sassafras Lass, bling, and subtitle. The clear snowflake is a QK diecut with the edges painted with a pink paint marker.

Scrapping the Music - Little Wonders

Here's my layout for the Scrapping the Music challenge, Little Wonder's by Rob Thomas.

This photo just breaks my heart...
My daughter played Varisty soccer last year as a Junior. This year because of repeated ankle injuries, she didn't perform well at tryouts and was cut from the Varsity team (they have a new coach this year).

I used the lyrics from Little Wonders instead of the title. Journaling reads:

All of my regret will wash away somehow...
But, I cannot forget the way I feel right now.

PP is from Basic Grey and We R Memory Keepers. The flower is Prima Essentials collection. These flowers are gorgeous! The doodle is made using a Crafter's Workshop template.

Scrapping the Music - Best Days

This week's song at ScrappingTheMusic was Best Days by Matt White. I've been real busy this week, but I still wanted in on this challenge. This is a hybrid layout... The photo, frame, title and journaling are all one piece printed off the computer. I just added background paper and chipboard.

This is my hubby and me. We used to do a lot of camping in our younger days. The background paper is from the Basic Grey Obsure line I got from the 2ScrappyChixDesigns store.

Scrapping the Music - You'll be Here in my Heart

Here is my latest layout for the Scrapping the Music challenge. This week the song is "You'll be in my Heart" by Phil Collins:

This is my daughter, I scanned a few old photos to add to the layout too. I used PP from the new BG Obscure collection, primas and quickutz die-cuts.

Scrapping the Music - My Wish

Here is my layout, of my son's 8th grade graduation. The words of this song are beautiful and perfect for this layout.

I used the song lyrics in the journaling...
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, your dreams stay big, your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can hold, and while you're out there getting where you're getting to, I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too, Yeah, this, is my wish.

The patterned paper by 7Gypsies. The star stamp is one of my favorites by Paula Best. It reads, "Wish on Every Star" ... and I'm still practicing my doodling!

Scrapping the Music - Bubbly

As soon as I saw the title of the song, I knew what photo I wanted to use (even through the song has nothing to do with bubbles and bathtime). My mom has had this photo stuck to her sewing cabinet for years, so I ran down to her house to make a copy.

This layout uses the new Fancy Pants Botanical and Sweet Pea patterned papers from the 2SCD store. I used the new Prancer Thickers for the title.

This is my FIRST doodling layout. I'm taking a doodling class right now at Big Picture Scrapbooking with Maelynn Cheung and was finally brave enough to try it on a layout. I was so nervous! What do you think? Is it too much?

Scrapping the Music - Sweet Child O' Mine

This is a layout inspired by the Guns and Roses song "Sweet Child O' Mine," posted on the Scrapping the Music challenge blog.

As I was looking through my old photo albums, I came across this photo. I'd completely forgotten about it. It was a beautiful candid moment.

I love the fun music inspired challenges at Scrapping the Music. They are have a great scrapbook kit to give away for just posting a comment on their blog. Visit them here:

Scrapping the Music - These are My People

Here is my layout inspired by Scrapping the Music song of the week, "These are My People" by Rodney Atkins. This is a hybrid layout. The PP is from the FreeForm Cosmo Collection. The diecuts are from Quickutz and the flower is from Prima.

Journaling reads: These are my friends and teammates. We have been together for over 4 yrs. And have something big in common; we all LOVE soccer! We are tough ladies... not a single girly-girl in the bunch! We all play hard, get dirty, and have fun whether we win or lose. Of course, it’s always better to win! On or off the field, they are the best bunch of friends anyone could ever have. They are my team... the people I play with, the people I hang out with, and the people, with whom, I celebrate the victories of the day!

Song Lyrics used: We fall Down and We get up; We walk proud and We talk tough...We got heart and We got nerve; Even If we are a bit disturbed...

Another new layout using the Scribble Scrabble August kit from 2SCD:

I just love the colors and patterns in this paper line!!!

Scrapping the Music - Say it Right

This weeks song is "Say it Right" by by Nelly Furtado. I was honored to be picked as the featured scrapper for the week. Here is my layout:

I tried to capture the passion from the song in my layout by using the trendy colors, then I added the black to make it all sparkle. The beautiful patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye. The border around the photo is a digital element that I added before I printed it. It's called "Ledger Overlay" from Kate Pertiet.

Scrapping the Music - Like a Star

Checkout this great new blog!

The is such a fun idea! Here is the layout that I created for their first challenge. I used the Scribble Scrabble August kit from the 2ScrappyChix Designs store. There was a lot of junk in the background of my photo. I could have used my photo editor to edit it out, but I did it the old fashioned way... cut it out with scissors!
