Twenty
My baby is 20 today. Two-zero. 4 times 5. One-fifth of 100. No more teenagers at our house. Part of me wants to say, "How did this happen?" even though I know exactly how it happened: this is what life does, it just keeps moving forward.
He won't always sleep across the hall from me. He won't always need me to wash and fold his clothes, make him egg-over-rice for breakfast and buy him Cinnamon Toast Crunch at the market. And he won't always need or want my opinions and advice.
Happy birthday, Christopher James. Part of me misses my little boy Boo, and part of me is very proud of the man you are becoming.
I love you more than chocolate (even though I did insist on chocolate cake for today).
Love, Mom.

Project Life Marathon Training - Week 6
I'm kind of late on posting week 6's page, because I'm not 100% happy with the filler card for this week, but we're still keeping up with the training... and I'm still keeping up with documenting our road to a marathon:

March Showers
It's a rainy day today... just the perfect day for crafting.
My friend Mary is the guest designer over at the Quirky Crafts challenge blog. The current challenge is to Make a Quirky Mess... make your own background paper.
I could not resist this challenge because ONE, Mary is my bestest friend. And TWO, I love making a mess with paints :0D
Here is my card:
I made the background with layers of acrylic paint... the "flag" is actually strips of washi tape... add a cute die cut from MFT and I've got a cute card to cheer someones day.
Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life Marathon Training - Week 5
Is it week 5 already? It is!!! Our BIG event for this week is the Brea 8K.
Is it my imagination or do my photos keep getting worse and worse each week? lol! Those are the race photographers photos. I'm too cheap to buy the photos, so I just used the proofs.
Another week down! 13 weeks to GO!

4-wheel Adventure
Our 4-wheeling adventrue for this weekend takes place in Ocotillo Wells on the east side of Anza Borrego. Jim found a place online called Sandstone Canyon that he wanted to go to. Here are some pictures of the Canyon:
I love the high walled canyon. It was very cool! On our way out of the canyon we came across a sign that said "Wind Caves." So we stopped. It was a 1 mile hike over steep terrain, but it was an amazing place.
It was very FUN! We had the entire place to ourselves to explore!
Also, the view of Anza Borrego from up here was spectacular!
I hope that everyone has as much fun this weekend as we did. Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life Marathon Training - Week 4
I've been lax at posting my latest project life page. Week 4 training finished a week ago. I gave it a Valentine's Day twist. Here's our page. And I complained that last week's photo was blury, look at this week's photo of me... but there's nothing I can do about it...
And of course, here is this week's free card. Just click on the image to download:
I almost have this week's page done... I'm waiting for race pictures to be posted :oD

It's Card Kit Time!
Welcome to Card Kit Club 2013! We have 10 ladies in the club this year... 10!!! These are all wonderful ladies who I've had the good fortune to meet at Scrappin' Mojo. Wait until you see all the talent and inspiration!
It's time for our first Kit Club reveal. This month's kit was put together by Beth! It was full of Valentine sweetness:
Here are the cards that I created:
In this card, I used everything that grabbed my attention first: the doily, tissue paper, ribbon, beads and roses. I created this one for Beth's Challenge at Scrappin' Mojo:
Now I needed a Valentine card for a boy, so I combined my stamps with Beth's stamps, doily and cute PP, and came up with this:
I lifted this card from Pinterest. I had some cute BG heart paper that worked perfectly with Beth's PP and beads. This is created for Stella's challenge at Scrappin' Mojo:
The flower stamps were just screaming "STACK ME!" So here's a card with an amazing stacked flower. I just love the colors that Beth picked for this kit!
Be sure to checkout the creations from the other ladies:

February [be creative] Unity Challenge
I just adore the creative images on Unity stamps! I especially LOVE the Itty-Bitty's... and cute image and and equally cute saying.
Anyway, over at Unity, they have created a new challenge blog. A new challenge will post the second Thursday of each month. This month, was a sketch.
For this card I used a cute Itty-Bitty stamp set called How's it Rollin'. I didn't use the cute saying. This time I combined the image with some old stickers by Fancy Pants. I thought it would make a nice Father's Day card.
Thanks for looking and I hope you have a great day!!!
