I want to start with a crafty share. Look what I made! Brad Bracelets! I used a package of Basic Grey Sugared brads and made four valentine bracelets which I used as gifts for family and friends. I've been dying to make these since I saw them HERE. They came out so CUTE!
I had a craft week! Here is another sweet crafty share, Rice Krispy hearts. I got the idea HERE. The ladies at Bunco loved them!
Look at the flowers Jim got me! Aren't they BEAUTIFUL?!!
Look my hubby made me a card for Valentine's Day! Don't you think he did a good job? Cheryl said that Jim had some "not very nice words" for my die cut machine... The letters kept coming out backwards, and he was running out of paper! LOL!
Look what the kids made me! Peanut butter fudge! YUM!!!
And we had a sweet Valentine birthday today! Happy 8th birthday Leah!
I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Valentine's Day!

Surf City Half-Marathon
Welcome to Surf City. We had so much rain Friday and Saturday that Cheryl's soccer tournament was canceled. Sunday dawned bright and sunny, YAHOO!!! ... and cold {brrrrr}... As the sun came up it got warmer quickly; up into the 60's by the end of the half-marathon. It was a BIG race! The BIGGEST yet, with 20,000 runners! Oh, boy, was it crowded. When we crested a hill and looked down Coast Hwy, we could see a sea of runners in both directions!
I am so excited! My goal was to finish in in less than two hours and I DID IT!!! I finished the half-marathon in 1:58! AND I didn't fall down, lol! GO ME!!!
Chris and I started together, but he soon left me behind. Chris's goal was a time in the 1:40's. He finished in 1:44 (including TWO port-o-potty breaks).
As we were running, Jim and Cheryl hung out eating donuts, and watching the sea of runners go by. They said it took forever for them to cross the race course. The runners kept coming and coming and coming...
As I said, it was beautiful in Huntington Beach! Here's Jim and Cheryl on the pier. Look at those blue skies!

Ink Resist Card
Nicole over at the Papertrey Ink blog challenged us to make a card using the ink resist technique. Here's my simple little card.
I made good use of my ice cream cone stamp!
1) Stamp the ice cream cone using black ink.
2) Trace messily over the outline of the cone with white crayon.
3) Use a brayer to cover the crayoned images with pink ink (iron afterward to remove excess crayon)
4) Use a paper towel and add darker inking over the ice cream for added dimension.
5) I also stamped the ice cream cone on a piece of shrinky dink plastic and colored it in.
Thanks for looking!!!

Welcome to Potter's Hill
I logged enough miles to say I ran all the way across country... from Mission Viejo, California to Potter Hill, North Carolina! Now that I've achieved my first goal, I'm on to my next goal which is to log enough miles to run around the world. I'm making some stops along the way of course. My first stop will be Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii. That is where my Aunt, Uncle and Grandma live. I've got quite a head start because I've taken all the miles I've logged so far and applied them to the ocean crossing, leaving me only 266 miles from Waimea. I've moved the ticker from the top of the blog to the bottom. I am still keeping it up to date, but there won't be much activity on it, since I'll be spending most of my time in the Pacific Ocean. See you in Kauai!

A couple quick sports posts...
Cheryl and the Quakes spent the weekend in Lancaster for the first round of State Cup. In 32F weather, surrounded by snowy mountains, the Quakes defeated the first team 4-0. Their second game ended in another win, 3-0! They played the toughest team on Sunday morning, but they were ready for them! They won again! 6-0!!! The undefeated Quakes move on to the "round of 32" in Temecula next Saturday. If they win their Saturday game, they'll play in the "sweet 16" on Sunday.
Rain is in the forecast for Huntington Beach on Sunday. We are keeping our fingers crossed for a change in the weather. Even though Chris and I like running in the rain sometimes, 13.1 miles in the rain is a long, long way....

Album FINISHED!!!
Here is my scrappy share for the weekend. I finally finished Cheryl's Europe album!
Cheryl went to Europe in Spring 2007, so I finished in less than 3 years, lol! Yeah, that's a long time...

Book of Me - A & B
I DID IT! I officially started my "Book of Me." I'm going to use the letters of the alphabet as prompts to journal about me for an entire year. By then you'll be really tired of hearing about me, lol! I decided to do this as digital pages and print the whole thing out as a 5x7 Shutterfly book when I'm done.
Here are my first two pages... A and B!
Anxious, Things that make me
Driving. It's not so much that I don't like to drive, it's that I don't like to try and be somewhere on time. I always add half an hour and still there is a fear that I'll get lost or that I'll hit traffic. I don’t like to be late. I try working backward. Okay, I need to be there at 9am. That means I should arrive at 8:45 to leave time for parking. That means I need to leave the house by 8am-- no, play it safe, there could be a lot of traffic say 7:30. That means I need to get up at 6:45; that gives me 45 minutes to get ready. I'll immediately repeat the whole internal dialogue-calculations, see if I come up with the same time estimates. I'll do this at least a couple more times before I leave, one of the times being at night when I set my alarm clock and check at least twice that it's set to AM instead of PM. Thank goodness for Garmin. Garmin and its annoying female voice make me less worried I’ll get lost.
Flying. Again like driving but with even more variables. Being at the airport two hours early, airport traffic, long term parking, van ride, locating the right terminal, ticketing, baggage check, security, and finding the gate!
Birthday
I like my birthday. The actual date, November 25, falls right around Thanksgiving. Yes, I'm a turkey. I don't like a big fuss made about my birthday. We've been combining my birthday with Thanksgiving forever, and I like it that way. Typical birthday dinner: turkey and cake!
Busy...
How are you? busy. How's work? busy. How was your week? busy.
Blogging
Telling the story of my life! Staying connected with family and friends all over the country! I started blogging in 2007 to share ideas with other scrapbookers on the web. But there is more to my life than just scrapbooking. I find that I’m a creative person with something to say. Truthfully, I blog for me... because it keeps me connected to my life.

Happy Birthday Jim
Today we celebrated Jim's birthday at home with a steak dinner (Jim's favorite). We got him a new movie which we watched tonight (Hopscotch). And we had some very yummy birthday treats! And LOOK... the tiki candle is making another appearance. I think that it may become a new family tradition, lol!
Take a look at these caramel apples! Cheryl found them at a store in Irvine Spectrum. Those apples were soooooo GOOD!!!

Southern California Half-Marathon results
They posted Chris's official time for the Southern California Half Marathon. He finished in 1:40 (that includes his bathroom break). He came in 56 out of 679 in his age group, and 279 out of 3832 overall. That means that 18% of the people running were boys between the age 15-18yrs. That's a lot of boys!
Surf City is only two weeks away and I'm still not doing a full run yet. Between the rain and my sore ankle, it's hard to get in any running time at all.

Scrappy Share!
Here it is! My first scrappy share of 2010! This is another page for my daughter's Europe album. Cheryl went to Europe in 2007, and I'm almost done with her album! Only two more pages to go! When I'm finished with the album, I'll post all the pages together... Cheryl and I are really pleased with how it came out... and I am really REALLY pleased that it's almost finished! LOL!
